Dr. Manning-Gibbs works primarily from an empirically-supported treatment modality, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Through this approach, she educates her clients about how their thoughts and behaviors often cause and maintain their moods. Dr. Manning-Gibbs' belief is that effective therapy not only provides real relief during treatment but also equips individuals with tools that can be utilized well after treatment has ended. Her blend of infusing scientific methodology with genuine compassion has helped numerous clients overcome mood and anger issues.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Manning-Gibbs is employed by Rutgers University as a clinical supervisor of a mental health unit at the Juvenile Justice Commission's New Jersey Training School for Boys (aka Jamesburg). There she primarily oversees clinical cases and treats adolescent males diagnosed with moderate to severe mental illness.
